About Me
I was born and raised in Irvine, California. I played tennis my whole life, on and off, until my senior year of high school, when I decided to take it seriously and train full time.
My college journey is done. Now I coach full time. I teach private lessons, coach at Apex Performance Tennis Academy, and help run the boys and girls varsity teams at JSerra Catholic High School.
Background
I've played tennis since I was four. By 11 I was pretty good, but I started playing other sports and went back and forth with tennis for years.

My philosophy is that it's all about the process, not the result. Every tool in the toolbox. You need to feel like you have every shot, so you're ready for any opponent: lefty or righty, a better forehand or a better backhand, a good slice or a pusher.
Footwork
Stay on the balls of your feet. Efficient footwork keeps you fast and balanced.
Volleys
Finish points at the net. Move low through the volley, balanced, with proper technique.
Forehand and backhand on the rise
Take both sides on the rise, and make them feel the same.
Slice on the run
The backhand slice on the run, when you are playing a neutral ball.
Drop shot
A change of pace from the opponent, especially when you are playing aggressive.
Cross-court short angle
Pull them off the court with a short angle that sits low and wide.
Kick serve
The serve that kicks up high off the bounce and pushes the returner back.
Pancake overhead
Another overhead to have ready in the toolbox.
Mental reset
Be able to reset after any point like nothing happened.
